If you are planning go to Japan, where do you want to go?
Kyoto? Hakone?
Today I will recommend you Kanazawa.
Kanazawa is located in northwest of Tokyo.
It flourished as a castle town of the Kaga clan during the Edo period.
The city is well known for its traditional culture, for example art, crafts and tea ceremony.

Recently tourists have been flock to Kanazawa.
Because the Hokuriku Shinkansen bullet train began operation last month.
Once four hours away from Tokyo by train, it takes only 2 hours and a half now.
Kanazawa have become easy visiting distance.

There are many tourist spots in Kanazawa.
One of most famous place is Kenrokuen Garden.
That is originally part of Kanazawa castle.

You can enjoy its beautiful landscape in all season.
In winter you can see unique scene, yukitsuri.
Ropes are stretched over all the pine trees to protect them from the weight of snow.

Higashi Chaya District is also popular place.

The geisha district is preserved for a long time and designated as a historical street.

Not only ancient aspects, there is a fantastic contemporary museum.

Beautiful crafts are also attractive point of Kanazawa.
In June 2009, Kanazawa was registered as a UNESCO
Creative City of Crafts and Folk Art.
Kanazawa lacquerware has been produced there since 17th century.

And it is also known as a gastronomic city.
There are fantastic seafood from the Japan Sea including shrimps, crabs and yellowtails.
I would like to recommend going to Omi-cho Market.

As just described, Kanazawa is full of attractive spots!
