Book designer and woodcut artist. After learning under Hashimoto Gaho, he studied oil painting in Tokyo Fine Arts School. His activities as a designer include Natsume Soseki's "I Am a Cat" and so on. In the later years he produced works of beautiful women, as a Shin-hanga artist.
